On an unrelated, very exciting note... Powell has accepted Christ and Powell AND Maryanna have decided to get baptized!!!!! Words cannot express. Pastor Jesse came over yesterday to discuss the baptisms. We're all very excited and plan to celebrate!
Maryanna decided to follow Christ almost 3 years ago, but does not like to be the center of attention and did not want to go in front of the church. We explained she didn't have to do it that way, but she 'wasn't ready'. However, she has continued to think about it and would not be rushed ; ) and we assured her we would never make her do it, because we wanted her to experience the blessings of being obedient to Christ on her own.
Powell on the other hand has been telling us that he's a Christian, and when we sat down to talk to him about it he says he prayed all by himself after being tucked in one night. He clearly understood what he did and is doing and answered all our questions with a huge smile splitting his face. Following our discussion and praying with us, he promptly announced he wanted to be baptized! We talked about the reasons for being baptized and didn't want to rush him, but also feel so happy (like, over the moon happy) that he wants to follow in obedience immediately.
Maryanna and Powell will be 10 and 8 in June. I could not be prouder or more excited about their futures.
