I blogged daily or thereabouts. That's right. I said thereabouts.
Anyway, apparently those days are behind me. Therefore, (yep, I said therefore) I will no longer comment on the fact that it's 'been a long time' and it's 'gotten away from me'. I blog when I blog and that's the way it's gonna be.
Right.
So, this is what I'm up to. Christopher is 2 1/2! Everyday I'm reminded how big he is. I have told My Man that I reserve the right to call him 'the baby' until he's 33. Get over it.
I love the way he talks right now. I'm not kidding, he has the best manners of all of my children right now. It's adorable/hilarious (does that make him adorkable?). If I sneeze he's the one to say, 'bwess you mommy'. If I say thank you to him, he says, 'yelcome, mama'. And one of my favorites. If I ask him to do something sometimes he will say, 'uhhhhhh, sure. uhhhh, sure, mama.' Also, 'yes' is 'yessssssth'. I can't even do it. But it's adorable.
Please, Lord, let these not be some of the details I forget! I'd be fine not remembering the towers of laundry and the potty accidents and some of the 'tude'!
What else? Uhhh, I don't believe I mentioned it, but Lola contracted a rash last spring. It's called molluscum. It's awful. It's viral and contagious and can last years. Years! I got very frustrated, declared war and bought something called 'Molluscum Control' by Forces of Nature. We put it on every night and every morning and washed everything that she wore once. She did not get to take a bath. Ever. Until they were gone. Which they are. The end.
FYI, now she has a wart on her hand. *sigh* Poor girl.
Powell is a force to be reckoned with these days. He is so lovable and hears things from across the room but doesn't seem to hear you when you are speaking directly to him. 10 times. My Man says it's b/c he's a boy. There's a lot going on in his head. I can see that. And I love him dearly. But I'm afraid things might get ugly this summer. I'm just saying. He is in kindergarten and chews with his mouth open and gets food all over his mouth. I am afraid of what he looks like at school and what the teachers think of me. But short of going up there with a baby wipe there's not a lot I can do. Also, I am reminded that we used to say my brother's face was numb b/c he did not seem to ever feel the food around his mouth. And he dropped his fork everyday at dinner until he was 15, so I might be in the clear. Lee turned out pretty ok/adorkable : )
Maryanna is so much like her dad and so much like me. She is a people pleaser and an overachiever. Very smart and also introverted. Which also makes her very direct. She is detail-oriented and has a very strong sense of justice. I am not going to say which is who : ) She will go the extra mile to make you happy or make you smile. She will also shove everything under her bed until you find it. She is my capable-of-so-much-hard-not-to-hold-her-to-a-very-high-standard. She likes to point out the flaws in her siblings and sometimes compassion is difficult. Which makes it hard for me to find my compassion...sometimes. I should also say, that if I'm the one having a bad day or sad for any reason she is the first to offer a hug or try and cheer me up.
Where as Lola just hugs you all day long everyday for no reason whatsoever. : )
There are my updates on the kids since I haven't written in their baby books or scrapbooked in a very long time.
Lola is afraid of the dark right now. She has been sleeping with Nana periodically. Who complains that she kicks and steels the covers but still allows it.
Powell lost a tooth the day before Easter so the easter bunny and the tooth fairy came in the same night.
I'm considering doing a summer Bible Study. Which is either completely crazy or will be my sanity's saving grace. I've looked into 'Interrupted' by Jen Hatmaker, which caused me to pick up her second book at the library - 7: an experimental mutiny against excess. Uh, I love it. So far. And she's hilarious. So, there's my plug. I am already driving my friends and family nuts talking about it and will probably be plaguing my immediate family by making them eat homemade sandwich bread soon. Expect a recipe.
Also, I'm going to make my own laundry detergent. Because we're heading into one of the busiest times of the year for us and I'm crazy.
It has just dawned on me that I have used the words crazy and sane or insane fairly regularly through this entire post. I wonder if that is relevant...?
