That's What!
So funny. I picked up the Elmo potty dvd at the library just to start getting Powell used to the idea. I did not intend to start potty training yet. Within 12 hours of watching it (actually on the 2nd viewing) he tells me he has to go potty. so, I take his pants and diaper off knowing that he just wants to pretend (we've been down this road before). 20 minutes later, he stands up, turns around, and pees into the potty. Cracked me up. He didn't say anything to anyone. The next morning he did it again! Not wanting to pass this opportunity up, we tentatively left his diaper off to see how things might go. All of this to explain why Powell was running around half naked. Right at about 5pm when Chris walks in the door and I'm in the kitchen making dinner, Maryanna starts yelling/crying as she makes her way to me from the bedroom. I round the corner and, short tempered, say, 'What?!' And I kid you not, M answers, 'Powell peed on me, that's what!' And sure enough, she has a wet spray mark from the center of her belly downward. It must have taken her a minute to figure out where it was coming from... If that's not one for the books, I don't know what is. Apparently Powell got carried away while playing with his cars and just peed where he was sitting, pointed directly at Nana. I wish I could see all your faces right now.
Also, enjoy this pic of my sweet baby girl.

Just Like You
Last week I took all three of the kids with me to get groceries. I do not do this anymore if I can help it, but Chris was out of town. Anyway, Powell must have forgotten all of his grocery store manners b/c he tried to eat the hot dogs we were buying - through the packaging, of course. Enjoy this picture.
And this morning Maryanna crawled into bed with me and while I was still bleary-eyed said, 'Guess what, Mom? I dreamed that I could be a mom just like you.' How precious?! That was a nice way to wake up, even if it was early.
One more thing, we got new furniture! I'm so excited! We've had hand-me-downs with slipcovers on them since we got married. I'm so pumped!

Kids these days...
I have a couple of things I want to share. On the way to church on Sunday I was trying to teach Nana to see how God is involved in our every day. So, I was pointing out how well everyone slept last night after we prayed for that very thing the night before. When she responded our dialogue sounded something like this:
Maryanna: Yeah. And God gives us the morning.
Me: You're right. God makes the sun come up every day. Everything pretty on this earth, He gave us.
Maryanna: Yeah. 'Cause God is in our hearts. (this she must have learned in Sunday school or VBS b/c we have not said it like that)
Me: That's right.
Maryanna: He's in my heart, and Powell's heart, and your heart, and Daddy's heart, and Lola's heart... (each name she drew out as she said it!)
PRICELESS.
So, yesterday we ran to Target for just a few minutes. I planned only to get photocopies. We were there a total of 60 seconds and Powell fell flat on his face. He was screaming at the top of his lungs and I was trying to get a good look at his mouth when blood started streaming out of his nose onto our clothes. Poor kid. I thought he'd wake up with a black eye or something this week, but nothing. Scared me half to death. I guess this is probably the first of many...
