Well life's been a little crazy around here. But, when is it not? Lola and Powell are both teething. Powell's 2 year molars have made him crankier than any of the others, not to mention he's actually run a fever as high as 101 with them. He literally just loses it. Usually it's close enough to bed time that he just starts crying and he won't stop, and I can't tell what he's saying. I finally just have to tuck him in and he stops immediately. He's also potty training, so lot's of life changes. He's doing really really well.
Lola's been working on her top two front teetch. One came through yesterday and already there's a huge difference in her sleeping patterns. But, the other one's visible through her gums so it won't be long....
We've been gearing up for fall around here. I finally got my few meager decorations out of storage. My favorite thing is my table. I don't usually keep my table set with, well, almost anything. But right now I have a tablecloth, placemats, and a centerpiece on it. It's the small things :)
A few things the kids have been doing:
I hosted a MOPS brunch for my table this morning and made cinnamon rolls. Maryanna keeps saying 'Can I have another casserole, Mom?'
The kids have been trying on their costumes getting ready for Halloween. We have a Mr. Incredible costume that both of the kids have been wearing. The other day when I was helping Powell put it on he said, 'It's gonna be so cute, Mom, it's gonna be so cute!' And then, 'I wanna be incredible, Mom, I wanna be incredible!' Oh Babe. You already are.
Maryanna went on her first field trip with her class. They visited an apple orchard in Platte City. She came home with plenty to tell us. 'You don't want to pick the ones on the ground. Theyr'e not the ones you want to eat.' So much of what she says sounds as though it came straight from the teacher's mouth, and I'm sure it did.
Lola's getting really quick and finally able to manifest with her actions the orneryness you see in her eyes. When she eats I have to be extremely quick to keep the spoon out of her hands. She WILL grab it without hesitation and believe it or not it's like she's stronger than I am. I actually have to hold the spoon out of her reach until she opens her mouth for a bite. Then, swoop in and back out before she can get her freakishly strong, grubby chubby hands on it. So, at breakfast, lunch, and dinner you can picture us playing catch the spoon. Here's a pic of my little cereal monster...
